University of Rochester Study Finds Quantity of Newspaper Coverage About Religion Grows, Accuracy of Content Misses Mark

A new analysis of 12 daily U.S. newspapers reveals that the coverage of religion has broadened, but substantive content and context of those stories often remains incomplete. The study by faculty and students in the Department of Religion and Classics at the University of Rochester represents the most exhaustive review of religion in the media post-9/11/2001.

The complete study is available on the Web site of the Department of Religion and Classics at www.rochester.edu/college/REL.
