ADMISSION: Free and open to the public. Note: Parking is free in all University lots after 7 p.m. weekdays
The Interfaith Chapel of the University of Rochester is sponsoring a panel discussion titled "Health and Healing in Religion and Medicine" at 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, in the Chapel on the River Campus. The program is designed to explore ideas about the relationship between spirituality and healing and will include members of the faculty with specialties ranging from history to medicine. This event is free and open to the public.
Professor and chairperson of the history department Theodore Brown will moderate the panel. Brown also teaches in the fields of community and preventative medicine and medical humanities. Panel members include: Anne Merideth and Douglas Brooks of the Department of Religion and Classics; Rev. James Evinger, Rosalie Muschal Reinhardt, and Mary Dombeck of the School of Nursing; and local Ayurvedic physician Sonam Targee.
The panelists will share their experiences and academic work in the subject of healing in religion and medicine. Their backgrounds range from running clinics to teaching to working with cancer patients.
