EVENT: Athletics and Awareness Unite during Charitable Soccer Tourney

WHO: University of Rochester faculty, staff, and students participate in the 2013 YellowJacket Cup, a 3v3 charitable indoor soccer tournament sponsored by Grassroot Rochester.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Brighton Sports Zone.

WHAT: Thirty-two teams from across the University will compete to win the 2013 YellowJacket Cup, a charity soccer tournament with an educational twist. While all proceeds benefit Grassroot Rochester and the Riverflow Soccer Club, the event also serves as a way for Grassroot Rochester to promote awareness about contemporary American HIV/AIDS. During a presentation before the tournament, the group will discuss HIV/AIDS epidemiology, implications of new and ongoing prevention research, and how the disease impacts communities like Rochester.
