WHAT: The Department of Music at the University of Rochester presents the 4th annual Day of Brass where local musicians, including high school, college, and community members, will join the University's Brass Choir, a 40-member music ensemble, in a celebration of brass instruments and music.
Participants will take part in free workshops, lectures, demonstrations, and rehearsals. A final festival performance and a special show by Prime Time Brass begins at 3 p.m. and will include renditions of famous movie themes, including music from Transformers and Skyfall.
All events are free and open to the public.
TIME, DATE, PLACE: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, at the Alumni and Advancement Center (300 E. River Road).
