PepsiCo is being introduced as the University's exclusive beverage partner. With this new multi-year partnership, the University will offer a large range of Pepsi's beverage and food lines in its facilities.
With its main businesses of Quaker, Tropicana, Gatorade, Frito-Lay and Pepsi-Cola, PepsiCo's product portfolio includes 22 brands. Some of the company's popular beverages include SoBe, Naked Juice, Ocean Spray, Lipton Tea, and Aquafina, with snacks and healthy foods such as Sun Chips, Smartfood, Quaker oatmeals, and Sabra hummus, dips and salsas.
"In addition to the new product offerings, the University gains considerable savings in selecting Pepsi as its new partner—savings that will go directly back into the student dining program to help minimize costs to students and families," said Cam Schauf, director of Campus Dining Services and Auxiliary Operations. "This was a key consideration in the contract evaluation process." University officials went back and forth with Coca-Cola and PepsiCo for several months to determine which company delivers the best products and value.
The transition from Coke to Pepsi in University facilities is beginning immediately on River Campus and the Eastman School of Music; the Medical Center transition is expected begin on Sept. 16.
