Brenda Meehan, professor of history at the University of Rochester, has been selected as the Hanes-Willis Visiting Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Meehan will spend Nov. 8-15, 1997, lecturing and participating in classes on the UNC-Chapel Hill campus. Her lectures and seminars will reflect her expertise in the history and culture of Russia, the history of religion, and women's studies.
Meehan, who earned a Ph.D. in history from Rochester in 1970, joined the history faculty as an assistant professor in 1972. She is working on a book about the Russian religious renaissance and its ties to contemporary feminist culture.
