EVENT: Reading by poet Sally Keith as part of the Plutzik Reading Series

Poet Sally Keith will read from her work as part of the Plutzik Reading Series at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 18, in the Welles-Brown Room in Rush Rhees Library on the University of Rochester's River Campus.

Keith is the author of an award-winning book and several manuscripts and has published her poems in several journals. Keith's first book, Design (2000), won the 2000 Colorado Prize. Her second manuscript, Dwelling Song, was chosen for the University of Georgia's Contemporary Poetry Series. Keith's poems have appeared in several journals, including American Letters & Commentary, Denver Quarterly, Colorado Review, Conjunctions, and Volt.

Keith is a graduate of Bucknell University and the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. She was the 2002/03 Emerging Writer lecturer at Gettysburg College. This year, Keith is a visiting assistant professor in the University of Rochester's English department.

The Plutzik Series is one of the country's oldest and most prestigious literary reading programs. Established to honor the work of Hyam Plutzik, a distinguished poet and Deane Professor of Poetry and Rhetoric at the University, it has featured more than 175 noted writers, including Pulitzer Prize winners Anthony Hecht, Elizabeth Bishop, John Ashbery, Gwendolyn Brooks, Richard Wilbur, and Galway Kinnell.
