EVENT: River Jazz Ensemble Concert

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8 p.m., Thursday, April 19, in lower Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester River Campus

ADMISSION: Free and open to the public Note: Parking is free on University lots after 7 p.m. on weeknights

The University of Rochester River Jazz Ensemble will perform at 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, in lower Strong Auditorium on the University of Rochester River Campus.

The River Jazz Ensemble, directed by Matt Mealey, a graduate student at the Eastman School of Music, will perform pieces by jazz legends Bob Brookmeyer and Gil Evans. The concert will feature several original compositions by Eastman School graduate student Jamey Simmons, who will perform with the ensemble as well.

Also joining the ensemble will be the University of Rochester Jazz Combo and The Stingers Trombone Choir.
