EVENT: Celtic rock band Enter the Haggis
TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, on the steps of Wilson Commons on the University of Rochester's River Campus. In case of rain, the group will perform in the May Room inside Wilson Commons.
ADMISSION: Free and open to the general public
Enter the Haggis, a popular Celtic rock quintet based in Toronto, will give
an open-air free concert next month on the University of Rochester's River Campus.
The kilt-wearing band will perform at 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, on the steps
of Wilson Commons. In case of rain, the concert will be in the May Room inside
Wilson Commons.
Enter the Haggis made its debut in 1996 at the NXNE Music Festival in Toronto.
Two years later the band released its first full-length CD titled Let the
Wind Blow High, followed by Aerials in 2001 and Enter the Haggis
LIVE! last year.
The band's instrumentation combines the highland bagpipe and the fiddle with
guitars and a driving rhythm section. The group's sound has made them a favorite
at festivals and clubs across North America, including an appearance at the
Rochester Irish Festival the weekend before their River Campus performance.
The concert by Enter the Haggis at the University is sponsored by Wilson Commons
