Biography

Bill Forrest has been an infrared astronomer for ~35 years, and has been involved in development of Infrared Detector Arrays as well as astronomical instrumentation throughout that period. His main scientific interests are the formation of stars (focusing on the evolution of their protoplanetary disks), brown dwarfs, the galactic center, and the evolution of dust in the universe. The Spitzer Space Telescope has recently lead to dramatic progress in all these areas.
