Biography
Professor Elliot, a recognized leader in his field, was ranked #1 for career-stage impact in social psychology by a recent study of citation rates published in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin. He can speak on approach and avoidance motivation and how that affects school performance and health. He also studies the effects of color on motivation. Professor Elliot examines the antecedents, consequences, and development of achievement motivation and social motivation. He conducts basic, applied, and cross-cultural research in educational and sport contexts. Broadly speaking, Professor Elliot's work focuses on the self, motivation, parenting, achievement, and social connection.
