The University of Rochester Movement and Dance Program is sponsoring a free lecture and demonstration by Felice Wolfzahn starting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the Spurrier Dance Studio on the River Campus.
Wolfzahn is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. She has been involved with New Dance for the past 17 years, teaching and performing in the United States and Europe. Her work combines investigations into contact improvisation, authentic movement, New Dance technique, and collaborations with artists of other disciplines, including music and theater.
Wolfzahn currently lives in Shelburne Falls, Mass., and is a guest teacher at Bennington College in Vermont and in the Five College Dance Program. The Five College Dance Program pools the dance departments of Amherst, Hampshire, Mount Holyoke, and Smith Colleges, as well as University of Massachusetts Amherst, to create one of the largest dance programs in the nation.
