Arunas A. Chesonis, who is chairman, founder, and CEO of PAETEC Communications Inc., will explain how the company he founded in Rochester has emerged as an example of a business success for the 21st century. His recent book with coauthor David Dorsey is titled It Isn't Just Business, It's Personal: How PAETEC Thrived When All the Big Telecoms Couldn't (RIT Cary Graphic Arts Press, 184 pages).

Chesonis began his career at Rochester Telephone Corporation, now part of Citizens Communications Company. He went on to serve as president of ACC Corp. from February 1994 to April 1998. In May 1998, he founded PAETEC Communications Inc. and within five years it was ranked second on the list of fastest-growing companies by Deloitte & Touche. Ernst & Young named Chesonis Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a master's degree in business administration from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester, and was awarded an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of Rochester.
