Eve Salisbury, English professor at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Mich., discusses the scientific treatise which The Canterbury Tales author Geoffrey Chaucer wrote for his son. She examines the identity of the son and why this literary author and poet chose to write about the complex workings of the ancient astronomical computer in her talk "Chaucer's Treatise on the Astrolabe: Positioning the Son."
Salisbury is affiliated with the Medieval Institute at Western Michigan University, the host of the annual International Congress on Medieval Studies. She received her doctorate from the University of Rochester.
