The newest members of the University of Rochester Board of Trustees bring expertise in business, entrepreneurship, and law to their new positions—along with close ties to the University.

Mark Ain, who earned his MBA from the University's Simon Graduate School of Business in 1967, has been leading Kronos Inc., a major software developer based in Massachusetts, for almost 30 years. He served as CEO and chairman of the company from 1977 until 2005 and is now executive chairman. He also serves on the board of directors of several public, private, and charitable organizations. He received his undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Arunas Chesonis, who received his MBA from the Simon School in 1991 and an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Rochester in 2004, is chairman and CEO of PAETEC Holding Corp., one of the fastest growing telecommunications companies in the country. Chesonis cofounded PAETEC Communications in 1998. The company merged with US LEC Corp. in 2007 to become PAETEC Holding.

David M. Flaum is the founder and CEO of Flaum Management Co., a leading real estate development company based in Rochester. He earned a bachelor of science degree from Syracuse University in 1975 and a Juris Doctor degree from the Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, N.H., in 1978. He has many board affiliations, including a presidential appointment to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Council.

R. Wayne LeChase is managing partner and former CEO of LeChase Construction Services, a Rochester construction firm that is one of the largest in the Northeast. A graduate of John Carroll University, he earned his law degree from the University of Buffalo.

Nancy Lieberman, a 1977 Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Rochester, is returning to the Board of Trustees after serving as a voting trustee from 1994 to 2004 and as a senior trustee from 2004 to earlier this year.

An attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in New York City, Lieberman earned her law degree from the University of Chicago in 1979, and a master's degree in tax law in 1981 from New York University. She is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations and a director of the Pacific Council on International Policy.

"A great university deserves a strong and committed Board of Trustees," said G. Robert Witmer Jr., chairman of the board. "We are delighted to have these five members join the board and President Joel Seligman in pursuing the exciting course ahead for the University."
