WHAT: Philadelphia alternative hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang will make a stop at the University of Rochester after summer tours with Wiz Kalifa and fun.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, in the Goergen Athletic Center Palestra, located on the University of Rochester's River Campus. Doors open at 7 p.m.

WHAT: The duo, comprised of MC Chidera "Chiddy" Anamege and producer Noah "Xaphoon Jones" Beresin, met while attending Drexel University in 2008. The two began creating and self-releasing music online, attracting fans by "bringing new things together" with their interesting combination of hip-hop, electronic, and indie rock styles.

They gained notoriety in 2009 after a showcase on the popular music blog Pretty Much Amazing and well-attended performances at Drexel and nearby Swarthmore College. Their debut mixtape, The Swelly Express, spawned online sensation Opposite of Adults in late 2009 and included samples from popular music acts MGMT, Passion Pit, and Tinie Tempah. In February 2012, they released their debut studio album Breakfast through I.R.S. Records and Virgin Records. The album reached number 8 on the Billboard 200 and includes popular singles Mind Your Manners and Ray Charles.
