WHO: Members of the University of Rochester's new affinity group, the Minority Male Leadership Association (MMLA), will hold their first ever symposium, set to focus on increasing minority male achievement in Rochester.

TIME, DATE, PLACE: 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 21, in the Simon Graduate School of Business on the University's River Campus.

WHAT: Members of the University and Greater Rochester community will participate in "Connect for Success," a symposium organized by the Minority Male Leadership Association. The day, which focuses on how to increase minority male achievement in Rochester, includes three workshop sessions designed to create a better understanding of the obstacles that can prevent success for young minority men and build the steps needed to provide positive male role models.

At 1 p.m. in Hubbell Auditorium, MMLA will host a keynote address by Dr. Timothy Benson, a University of Rochester School of Medicine alum, who will discuss unrecognized challenges towards achievement. A current member of the Harvard Medical School faculty, Benson was named the Black Entertainment Television/Toyota Motor Sales National Leader of the Year in 1992 and is co-author of the Amazon.com best-selling book, Nothing But Net.
