WHAT: Krzysztof Meisinger (guitar) and Anna Maria Staskiewicz (violin) will perform music from around the world, including Polish Folk Melodies by Pasieczny, Bulgarian Rock by Ourkouzounov, and Canciones Populares Espagnolas by Falla.



The guitar-violin duo was formed in 2011 and has performed both as an independent duo and with major orchestras.

Staśkiewicz is an award-winning Polish and international violinist, widely recognized for her charismatic performing style and brilliant musicality. She has performed as a soloist and with orchestras worldwide, including the Polish Radio National Symphonic Orchestra, Toruń Chamber Orchestra, The Presidential Symphony Orchestra in Ankara, Gottingen Symphonic Orchestra in Germany, and Sinfonica Municipal in SaoPaulo.

In addition to her work as a soloist, Staśkiewicz is an active chamber player who has worked with Jose Gallardo, Robert Kabara, Marcelo Nisinman, and Olga Pasiecznik.

Meisinger has been an inspiration to a number of composers for classical guitar. He is a Polish musician who has been hailed internationally as one of the most fascinating and charismatic young classical guitar players. As a soloist, he has performed in the USA, Germany, France, England, Serbia, Austria, Spain, Greece, and Ukraine, with ensembles such as Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, the National Philharmonics Symphony Orchestra in Kiev, the Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra, and the Philharmonia Quartet Berlin. He has won several national and international competitions, including first prize in the 2006 International Classical Guitar Competition in Łodź.

ADMISSION: Tickets for University of Rochester undergraduate students are $5 (with I.D.) and $10 for the University of Rochester community and general public. Tickets can be purchased through the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Eastman Theatre Box Office.
