EVENT: 'Tales of a Mad, Mad, Mad ASL World,' a performance by Patricia Bruce

TIME, DATE, AND PLACE: 8:00 p.m. Saturday, Apr. 1, in Hubble Auditorium in Hutchison Hall on the University of Rochester's River Campus

ADMISSION: $7 for the general public; $4 for University of Rochester undergraduate students; and $5 for non-University of Rochester students and for University of Rochester faculty, staff, graduate students; available at the Common Market in Wilson Commons on the University's River Campus.

Patricia "Trix" Bruce has earned national recognition as an American Sign Language (ASL) performer. Her one-woman show tells humorous stories about her life as a deaf person through varied means of communication. She employs audience interaction and plays with various hand shapes, 3-D representations, personifications, role shifts, and international sign to tell stories and jokes. Bruce also is known as a teacher of ASL storytelling and ASL interpretation.
