As part of a year-long celebration of the centennial of women’s suffrage in New York state, the Eastman School of Music and Susan B. Anthony Center are collaborating on a concert featuring the premieres of commissioned works by women composers.
Save the date for this year’s ceremony, Saturday, February 4. Eight undergraduates will be saluted for their contributions to the University and local community, and this year’s Frederick Douglass Medal will also be presented to community leader Connie Mitchell.
Constance (Connie) Mitchell, one of Rochester history’s most influential social, civic, political and industrial activists, is being recognized for outstanding civic engagement at this year’s Susan B. Anthony Legacy Awards Celebration brunch on Feb. 4.

Brink Fox will be honored at the Susan B. Anthony Legacy Brunch, a long-standing University tradition that celebrates Anthony’s campaign for equal rights and to win women admission to the University in 1900.
“Instead of thinking about the effects of intimate partner violence in an isolated kind of way, we need to look at it across the lifespan and across the developmental stages,” says keynote speaker Dr. Tasneem Ismailji.
