What is UR-Coeus ?
UR-Coeus is a database system that contains proposal and award information for sponsored programs at the University of Rochester. The Office of Research and Project Administration (ORPA) originally licensed Coeus (a grant management application) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1997. Coeus (named after the Greek Titan of Intelligence) has been adapted to the University’s requirements and culture to become "UR-Coeus".
What is Coeus Cognos Reporting?
Proposal and award data is fed from UR-Coeus to the University’s Data Warehouse nightly. In the data warehouse a series of canned, preformatted proposal and award reports are available through the use of Cognos, a software product that enables warehouse reporting through the web. These reports include criteria selection screens that allow the user flexibility to tailor report information to their needs. Reports can be generated in a PDF file or can be saved into other data formats (e.g. CSV, Excel) for further manipulation.
Coeus Cognos Reporting through the data warehouse is available 24 hours a day and offers an online help file and video with instructions on how to get the most out of the reporting application.
Access to Coeus Cognos Reporting can be requested by completing the Coeus Cognos Data Warehouse Access Request Form. Reporting Access Requests are usually processed at the end of each week.
Documentation and training guides specific to Coeus Cognos Reporting are available at the Cognos Coeus Grant Reporting SharePoint Site.
