Ready to Ride? University Joins Rochester’s Bike Share Program

In an effort to provide Rochester residents and visitors with an easy, affordable and healthy way to get where they need to go, our Transportation and Parking Office has partnered with the city, along with other local organizations, to help launch its new bike share program. Announced earlier this month, the new bike system, owned, operated and maintained by Zagster, a national provider, is debuting with 46 stations around the Rochester area and 340 bikes.

Our participation will not only help improve the community’s access to our campus, but it will also provide our own faculty and staff with another, convenient commuting opportunity. Nearby racks include one on Crittenden Blvd near the Mental Health & Wellness Center, one in College Town, one in Brooks Landing and another near City Gate. Another rack near Rush Rhees Library on River Campus will be live soon. Membership is free, and use of the bikes costs $1 per half hour.

To participate, download the free app and find more information here (use promo code RideOnUR for $5 in ride credits!). Please note that credit card use is not an option as the entire system is operated through the app. Still have questions? Check out the FAQ here.
