Handicap/Close-in Parking

Handicap parking

If you are in need of a closer in parking space due to a medical condition, please follow the below process:

  1. Print and complete the Request for Handicap/Close-In Parking form or pick up the paperwork at the MC or RC Parking Office.
  2. Have your physician complete the paperwork and submit it to Occupational Environmental Medicine Department (OEM).
  3. OEM will evaluate the paperwork. If paperwork is sufficient then OEM will recommend parking lot assignments.
  4. If the paperwork is not sufficient, then OEM will contact your physician or will ask you to come in for an interview.

If you are denied closer in parking, OEM will make suggestions for parking areas. However, the assignment is based on availability.

If the assignment is temporary ( less than 12 months), you will not be charged an additional fee. If the parking assignment is permanent (or continues for more than 12 months) you will be required to pay the going rate of the lot selected up to a maximum per year.

The hash marks next to a handicapped spot are for handicapped-accessible vans. A $100.00 fine will be given to all other vehicles parked in such spaces.
