In order to ease congestion and improve traffic flow, changes are coming soon for employees and students who now get on and off shuttle buses on East Drive.
These changes which include relocated shuttle stops and adjustments to the inbound and outgoing shuttle routes, are the result of a 2017 traffic study that reviewed traffic and pedestrian patterns on East Drive. The study’s recommendations prompted Transportation and Parking to make improvements based on the findings.
Blue Line/Brown Line
The bus shelter currently in front of Goler House will be relocated behind Goler House, just west of the public parking lot at College Town.
Highland Hospital/College Town Express
The Highland shuttle and College Town Express buses will no longer pick up in front of Goler House. They will pick up shuttle riders adjacent to the public side of the College Town Garage. The stop will be located to the side of the College Town surface lot.
Scottsville Road Shuttle
The East Drive shuttle stops will be consolidated and moved to Crittenden Boulevard near Golisano Children’s Hospital.
There will be signage directing toward the new bus stop locations. A map of the new shuttle stops can be found here.
Scottsville Road Shuttle Route
The Scottsville Road shuttle will now run in a continuous loop in the same direction all day long. The loop will include School of Medicine, a stop on Crittenden near Golisano Children’s Hospital, and another Crittenden stop near Whipple Circle. The route will no longer change directions in the afternoon, which means the shuttle stop locations will remain constant throughout the day.
There will no longer be a pick up or drop off at Helen Wood Hall. Instead, riders may use the stop near Whipple Circle.
The shuttle schedules also will be altered slightly. They will go into effect July 2 and can be viewed here:
