GUZICK NAMED DEAN OF MEDICAL SCHOOL
Guzick will succeed Dean Edward Hundert who becomes president of Case Western Reserve University in August. "We're very pleased to have Dr. Guzick join our roster of academic deans," said President Jackson. "With a very distinguished career to date, he also has a keen 'inside understanding' of the medical school's existing and potential strengths and we look forward to his contributions both to the school and University." Guzick, who also serves as chief of service of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Strong Memorial Hospital and Highland Hospital, came to Rochester from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Magee-Women's Hospital. He earned both his medical degree and Ph.D. from New York University as part of a National Institutes of Health scholarship. "The combination of David Guzick's clinical, research and academic experience
is perfectly suited for the challenge of continuing our growth and advancement
as a world-class medical school," said Jay Stein, senior vice president
and vice provost for Health Affairs and Medical Center CEO.
