2009 Jayne Knowlton (MS) has created AquaEve, a female urinal for bed-bound and mobility restricted women. “I experienced this problem myself as a teenager following hip surgery. As an occupational therapist, I see this problem every day and so am on a quest to make women much more comfortable during their hospital stay,” she writes. Jayne adds that a feasibility study has been approved by the internal review board and is scheduled to take place in July by the Clinical Nursing Research Center at the University’s Strong Memorial Hospital.
