In order to prepare for a session on assessment next Thursday, read the article Changes in mathematics teaching call for assessment Alternatives (Clarke, Clarke, & Lovitt, 1990) as it gives suggestions for vehicles to use for a variety of purposes and should stimulate your thinking about alternative assessments within your unit.
