Sharing strategies for using instructional resources effectively
(D7.4)
Facilitator's plan (by Raffaella Borasi)
- Prior to showing the video, articulated the task as: "while you
watch this video think about how you can use it / what can
you use it for".
- Show the video.
- Ask for responses to the video, then invite participants to brainstorm
as many different ideas as possible about how the video could be used in
a classroom.
- Whenever it seems necessary/helpful to move the participants to think
of novel uses, report on the use of the Pytagorean video made in Judi Fonzi's
class (along the lines described in the narrative of this experience included
in the Instructional Materials). Encorage participants to brainstorm
further ideas inspired by this different use of the video, highlighting
the important role played by the teacher's goals for the activity using
the video.
- Assign as a follow-up assignment the reading of the narrative of this
experience.
