Participants' final reflections (D8.2)
Directions for final reflection
"What have I learned paper":
In writing, try to articulate and reflect on what are the major things that you learned from this course. Please point to specific places (both class events or assignments) which document this learning and/or were significant events leading to this learning (you are encouraged to use appendices to provide written documentation when available/appropriate). Note that I am not so much interested in your listing specific contents covered in this course (though you may choose to include this, too, to some extent) but rather in having your own evaluation about how you have grown in your understanding and approach to the learning and teaching of mathematics throughout the semester, and worked towards the goals articulated at the beginning of the year in our course description.
While I would prefer not to assign a specific page constraint for this paper (as the number of pages may depend a lot on the approach and writing style you might choose to report on your learning and growth) I would like to emphasize the importance of this culminating assignment and the expectation that your analysis of what you learned should be detailed and documented, as well as well organized and synthetic. Finally, please feel free to quote in your paper from what you or some classmates may have written for this course, or from some of the readings, if appropriate, and/or to refer to longer documents (to be enclosed as Appendices and/or included in a reference list, as appropriate) as evidence/support of what you write in your paper.
(major assignment worth 10 points)
