About RED
The Rochester Every Day Program (RED) is a student discount program managed by the Rochester Center for Community Leadership at the University of Rochester Launched in 2003 by a group of entrepreneurial undergraduates; the program has steadily grown to include 150 local eateries, shops, and entertainment venues.
Our Goal
The program's main goal is to provide an economic incentive for students to explore the city and patronize local companies. In exchange for offering students a discount, businesses receive free on-campus advertising support, invitations to special campus events, and a listing on the RED web site. The program is free to both students and businesses.
Student Participation
Undergraduate students in the College of Arts, Sciences, and Engineering and Eastman School of Music as well as graduate students in the Simon School of Business may obtain a free RED sticker for their ID card from the Common Connection, 201 Wilson Commons. Plans to expand the program to other UR students are in progress. In the meantime students not eligible for RED are invited to use this site as a resource when exploring new dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
Business Participation
Rochester-area businesses can attract University of Rochester students through the RED student discount program. The program requires businesses to make a year-long commitment to offer a special discount to UR students. In return, businesses will be listed on the RED website and pocket guide, and will be promoted at various events on campus throughout the year. Participating businesses may also staff a table in the Wilson Commons student union once each semester, in order to further promote their products and services.
