Welcome to Robin Hood at the University of Rochester. Please use the links at left to navigate the site.
In 1997, Professor Thomas Hahn organized the first meeting of the International Association for Robin Hood Studies, held at the University of Rochester in western New York state. Since that first meeting, the IARHS has held conferences every two years, alternating between North America and the United Kingdom.
Studies of Robin Hood at the University of Rochester are conducted in several academic fields, including English Language and Literature, History, Media Studies, and Visual and Cultural Studies. The Robin Hood tradition is compatible with many different fields of study, and thus interdisciplinary approaches are of great benefit to the ongoing critical dialog surrounding the materials which comprise the tradition.
