Coming from a multicultural background (Lebanese-American), speaker Elianor M.A. is no stranger to stigma around uncomfortable subjects. For her, one of them is balancing a double life at the U of R, as both a student and a patient with a rare autoimmune disease. Elianor will discuss how she manages to keep a positive attitude and succeed in different ventures: academic and professional. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s important to look after our physical and mental health, which is why Elianor aims to de-stigmatize the conversation surrounding these issues. Elianor’s talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
