The First Wave
Dead Feminists Society: The Roots of Feminism in Upstate New York
Four local historians will discuss the birth of feminism and its connections to the local area. By focusing on the Underground Railroad and the abolition movement, the panel will address how Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and other local feminists were inspired by local activism and social justice work.

This Ain't Your Mama's Feminism...or is it?: The Continued Struggle for Reproductive Rights
Betty DeFazio, the Corporate Director for Community Affairs and Public Policy at Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region, will discuss the importance of reproductive rights activism for feminists in the 1960s and 1970s, and why these issues are still important and relevant today.

Activist, organizer, educator, and author, Dawn Lundy Martin will discuss feminist activism today. By discussing her work at Third Wave Foundation, Dawn will discuss the need for feminism in today's society and its connections to other social movements.
