The University of Rochester's incoming freshman class, along with their parents, moved carloads of belongings into their new homes on the River Campus in Thursday, August 23.
On the River Campus, the freshman class boasts more than 1,230 students, the largest incoming freshman class ever. Thirty-six percent of the Class of 2016 are from New York State, 48 percent arrive from 48 other states, and 16 percent hail from 45 foreign countries. Collectively, incoming freshmen earned an average 3.8 grade point average and scored above the 90th percentile on each of the three sections of the SAT. The in-coming transfer class includes 133 students.
