Lisa M. Slimmer, M.D., Ph.D.
Lisa Slimmer received her B.S. from the State University of New York at Brockport(1983) and an M.S. from the University of Arizona (1986). After working as an Exercise Physiologist and the Director of a Rehabilitation Clinic, she attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry completing a Ph.D. in Physiology (1994) and an M.D. (1997). Lisa continued at the University of Rochester completing her psychiatric residency (2001). During her residency, she received the John Romano Award for excellence in medical student education by a resident, the Pfizer Resident of the Year Award for outstanding academic achievement, and the Laughlin Fellowship Award from the American College of Psychiatrists as one of 16 residents in North America selected for outstanding leadership and significant contributions as a resident in Psychiatry.
After completing her residency, Lisa spent one year as a staff psychiatrist, Resident Education Coordinator and Dialectical Behavior Therapy Program Coordinator at the Rochester Psychiatric Center. She is currently on staff at the Unity Health Systems where she works as the General Adult and Eating Disorders Partial Hospitalization Psychiatrist, as well as the Outpatient Clinic Psychiatrist. Lisa joined the University Counseling Center in 2001 and serves as Consulting Psychiatrist.
