Kelly received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana. She worked in Iowa as a Case Worker for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and in Pennsylvania as a residential counselor for persons with chronic mental illness. She received her Master's degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Washington State University, completing research in aspects of Gender and Racial identity.
Kelly completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Texas at Austin Counseling and Mental Health Center. She worked for one year at the Colorado State University Counseling Center. From 1993-2010 Kelly worked as a Senior Staff Psychologist at the University Counseling Service at the University of Iowa. She was active in training and supervision, outreach and consultation, as well as psychotherapy.
Kelly is delighted to be joining the UCC staff -- bringing a wide range of clinical interests, and excitement about supporting the unique educational and interpersonal experiences of U.R. students.
