The mission of the Family Roundtable Cluster is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty, students, and others concerned with the health and well being of families. Professionals engaged in scholarly and clinical work with families come together each month to provide feedback on projects that advance the understanding of family research methods and findings. Participants include faculty, fellows, and students from the Department of Psychiatry, Division of Family Programs, the School of Nursing, Genetics, Adolescent Medicine, and the Psychology Department, among others. We aim to promote interdisciplinary work among several centers including The Wynne Center for Family Research (Psychiatry), The Center for High Risk Children and Youth (Nursing), the Mt. Hope Family Center (Psychology) and others. Of note, several members of our cluster (Fals-Stewart, Klosterman, Lam, McMahon, Tuttle) are involved with the newly funded Developmental Center for AIDS Research (D-CFAR), clearly an interdisciplinary program.

We typically meet the first Tuesday of each month during the academic year from 11:30-1:00 pm in the Family Programs division room 1-9082. At least twice each year, we bring in experts from around the world to lead discussions about emerging issues in family studies. Susan McDaniel, PhD Professor of Psychiatry and Family Medicine and director of the Institute for the Family and Jane Tuttle, PhD Professor of Nursing and Pediatrics, and director of the Family Nurse Practitioner program, co-chair the roundtable. Chris Henry and her team provide staff support for the activities of the roundtable. We welcome new members and presenters from all areas who are engaged in interdisciplinary family work.
