Flu Vaccine for UHS Patients – Fall 2009 (Updated 11/18/09)

H1N1 FLU VACCINE
The University Health Service has received a very limited supply of H1N1 vaccine. This initial supply of vaccine will be used for UHS patients who are in one of the following priority groups:

health care workers

health profession students (e.g., medical students, nursing students)

pregnant women

students who are18 or younger and have asthma or diabetes

UHS patients who live with or care for infants under six months of age

UHS patients who do not fall into one of these priority groups are not eligible to receive the vaccine at this time. Staff and faculty who are not UHS patients are not eligible to receive the vaccine at UHS. As additional doses of vaccine become available, we will use multiple means to notify our patients.

Please do not call UHS to ask about the availability of the H1N1 vaccine unless you are a UHS patient in one of the priority groups listed above and have a question about scheduling an appointment. If you have a question that you feel cannot wait, you can e-mail your question to “Contact UHS” on this web site.

Flu Clinics in Monroe County: The Monroe County Health Department is offering H1N1 flu vaccine clinics on November 19 and 21. Students should bring their University ID to the clinic and give their campus address when asked for an address.

SEASONAL FLU VACCINE (Updated 11/13/09)
UHS does not currently have seasonal flu vaccine. If the vaccine becomes available, we will update this page and notify students through the Weekly Buzz and Grads@rochester. For a listing of flu clinics in Monroe County check monroecounty.gov/health-flu or call 585-753-5600. We recommend calling before going to a flu clinic. Several clinics in the Rochester area have been cancelled due to the shortage of the vaccine.
