The flu has arrived in Rochester and is here on campus. If you think you have the flu, please call UHS (585-275-2662) before coming to the office. It is important to determine if you have a cold or something more severe like the flu.
Cold and flu symptoms are similar, but they have different intensity levels. A cold usually begins with minor sniffling, sneezing or a sore throat, while the flu hits you all at once. A fever and a headache are typical with the flu but rare with a cold. Fatigue and muscle aches are more severe with the flu. Taking your temperature before you call UHS will be helpful.
See Is It a Cold or Flu? to help you determine if what you have is a cold or if it is the flu. If you missed getting a flu shot this past fall, it is not too late to get a flu shot now. Call UHS at 585-275-2662 to schedule an appointment.
