Payment:   The cost of visits to UHS is covered by the mandatory health fee paid by full-time students. For other patients, visits are on a fee-for-service basis.

University Counseling Center (UCC)

Services:

• Individual, couples, and group therapy for full-time UR students.
• Psychiatrist and nurse practitioner who can prescribe and monitor medications.
• Evaluations and diagnosis of potential mental illness.
• Therapy groups:
  • Anxiety and depression therapy group
  • Co-ed groups for both undergraduates and graduates
  • Same gender graduate groups
  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) Skills - focused on learning to understand and manage personal thoughts and emotions

Payment:   The mandatory health fee covers the cost of visits to UCC.

Active Minds is a student-run mental health awareness, education, and advocacy organization on college campuses. Our goal is to promote awareness and education to remove the stigma that surrounds mental illness, and to create an open environment for discussion of mental health issues. Active Minds, Inc. is a non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. The University of Rochester chapter of Active Minds was formed in fall 2008. The group meets weekly during the academic year.
