University Health Service (UHS)

Services: Appointments with UHS primary care providers, confidential care and services, referrals to specialists, pregnancy testing.
Payment:  The cost of visits to UHS is covered by the mandatory health fee paid by full-time students. For other patients, visits are on a fee-for-service basis. A fee is charged for pregnancy testing. Confidential billing is available.

University Counseling Center (UCC)

Services: Individual, couples, and group therapy. For couples therapy, only one person needs to be a student.
Payment: The mandatory health fee covers the cost of visits to UCC.

Highland Family Planning

Services: Highland Family Planning offers affordable and confidential birth control and reproductive health services for men and women, including teens. Our program is LBGTQ friendly. We offer birth control, pregnancy testing, HIV testing and counseling, STD screening and treatment, annual exams, and physicals.
Payment: Highland Family Planning accepts all major health insurance including Medicaid. For those without coverage services are available on a sliding scale. Our staff can also help clients apply for the Family Planning Benefit Program to help cover costs of services.

Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region protects and supports every person's right to make voluntary, informed decisions about sexuality and reproduction in order to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.
Services: Low cost birth control; pregnancy testing and counseling on all options including adoption, parenting, and abortion; diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases; HIV/AIDS testing and counseling; Pap smears and breast exams; pre-natal care; 24 hour rape crisis services; education programs and advocacy for reproductive rights.


Pregnancy Loss Support Service (PLSS)

Strong Beginnings Pregnancy Loss Support Service, operated by Strong Memorial Hospital's Obstetric Service, is a comprehensive program staffed by registered nurses with intensive training who assist families experiencing a pregnancy loss.
Services: Education and support for immediate needs and decision making; anticipatory grief counseling, grief education, and continued support; in-patient services for families whose babies have died. Services are free.

Our mission is to foster love and respect for both mothers and babies by showing non-judgmental love and support to the pregnant woman. We demonstrate our values by: providing encouragement and support to assist pregnant women to mobilize their own resource and those of the community to bring their babies to birth.
Services:  Self-administered pregnancy testing; assistance finding prenatal care, adoption counseling, maternity clothing, childbirth classes, infant clothing and supplies; and friendship and support.
