Dental Insurance for Students

The enrollment period for enrolling in the Dental Plan for students is
September 1 through October 31.
Information about the dental plan for 2009-2010 will be available by the end of August.

call the Eastman Dental Center at 275-5051.

The UR Medical Center Division of Eastman Dental Center and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield of the Rochester Region offer the University Student Dental Plan for students. Coverage for the plan is from September 1 through August 31.

Please note that this plan is offered by the Eastman Dental Center, not the University Health Service. We include information about the dental plan on the UHS web site for the convenience of full-time students at the University of Rochester.

Enrollment Period

This plan has a specific enrollment period, which is September 1 through October 31. Students must enroll during this time to participate in the dental plan for the year. Students cannot enroll in the dental plan after October 31. Students who are not enrolled in the dental plan can use the services of the Eastman Dental Center and the SMH Eastman Department of Dentistry on a fee-for-service basis.

The enrollment form for 2009-2010 will be added to this page in late August. The enrollment form for 2008-09 has been removed from this page since the enrollment period has ended for 2008-09.

The dental services are provided by the:

Eastman Dental Center at 625 Elmwood Avenue near the UR Medical Center.

Eastman Department of Dentistry of Strong Memorial Hospital, which is located on the 4th floor of the Ambulatory Care Facility of Strong Memorial Hospital.

& Questions about the Dental Plan

Call (585) 275-5051 to schedule an appointment at either location. You can also use this number to ask questions about enrolling in the student dental plan. Students who are not enrolled in the student dental plan can use the services of the Eastman Dental Center and the SMH Eastman Department of Dentistry on a fee-for-service basis. Students may find it helpful to inquire about the fees for dental care before receiving care.
