Warner Scholarships for UR Undergraduates

Do you want to invest your time and talent into a career that matters? Do you want to make a difference and help shape people’s lives? And, are you still searching for that career that will help get you there?

With graduation just around the corner and a potentially challenging job market ahead, you have some important decisions to make about your future. The Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester wants to lend a hand. In 2009, the Warner School will award 20 new scholarships to qualified seniors who are interested in pursuing graduate study in teaching and curriculum, counseling, higher education, educational policy, and human development. Warner recognizes the need of most students today to receive financial assistance to be able to continue their education and is pleased to be able to continue being part of that assistance with these new scholarships, which will cover 50 percent of tuition costs for qualified students graduating May 2009.

Our world needs inventive math teachers; elementary school teachers who can meet kids where they are and support their success; counselors who care about the individual and speak up when the system is broken; and student affairs professionals who are passionate about creating college living and learning environments. The University has long been committed to attracting the best and the brightest to the educating profession, and through these scholarships Warner is not only able to provide financial assistance to students, but is also able to invest in the University’s talented pool of students in preparing the next generation of educators.

Additional scholarship opportunities, including the Fifth Year in Teaching scholarships and Robert Noyce scholarships, are available to University of Rochester undergraduates for graduate study at the Warner School.

If want to gain the professional skills and knowledge to become an exceptional educator, search no further. Candidates must meet the standard Warner School selection criteria and apply by the February 1 or April 1, 2009 admissions deadlines. The Admissions process is easy.  To learn more, please contact the Warner School Admissions Office at 275-3950 or admissions@warner.rochester.edu, or visit the Warner School Web site at www.rochester.edu/warner.
