Minutes from WGSA meeting on October 21, 2004:

Old Business:  

1. Coordination details of Warner Day of Service were clarified including cell #s of leaders for each group, driving directions, email to check on t-shirts (Kelly). Plan to meet back at the Warner School at noon. Laura will take care of water and pizza details, Shaza pictures, and Mary will develop reflection with follow-up email and article. Surveys were discussed and press release will be developed and sent.

2. WGSA Web site link done thanks to Aimee Lewis.

3. Doc student offices and issues have been resolved.

4. Student lounge décor helps to provide positive work environment!

5. For next time Colleen can update on holiday party plans as they develop.

6. Doc student panel to help others prepare for interviews including resume building and possible Q & A session on prospective teaching positions. Shaza will follow up.

7. Brian Brent will look into Warner paraphernalia. Possibilities of the Kauffmann Grant could be explored. Colleen to follow up.

8. Email list update - Chris Nardi /Raffaella Borasi?

New Business

1. Susan B. Anthony Gender/identity studies conference will be held on 3/22/05 in the Gamble Room. A call for papers deadline is in January. Amy Steed will keep WGSA posted on developments. This opportunity will provide a supportive setting for each to present 15-20min. at the Spring conference. WGSA may provide voluntary assistance for this event. Amy Steed will follow up with details.

2. A year-end symposium was proposed as an option.
