Evelyn Kirst

Profile

Evelyn Kirst has long been associated with the Warner School, mentoring administration candidates in the leadership program. In 2005, she joined the Warner School as an instructor and director of the Leadership Program for Catholic and Other Private Schools. She works intensively with Warner students, supervising administrative internships and teaching the seminars for Catholic and private school educational leadership students. Kirst also directs the Catholic Education Summer Institute.

Kirst, an accomplished Catholic School leader, brings a wealth of experience and many community connections to the Warner School. Her career began as a middle school teacher in the Diocese of Buffalo. She then served as director of Religious Education for three dioceses before assuming the position as assistant superintendent for Curriculum and Testing in the Diocese of Rochester in 1985. She has also been an elementary school principal in Dunkirk, NY, a pre-K to grade 8 principal in Rochester, and most recently the principal of Our Lady of Mercy High School, also in Rochester.

Kirst’s own educational experiences as a student in Catholic schools from elementary through graduate studies, and her many years of service as a Catholic school educator, bring integrity, passion, and experience to the Warner School.
