Autism Spectrum Disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis (non-degree program)

A non-degree program in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis is offered through the Warner School in collaboration with the Strong Center for Developmental Disabilities' Autism Program. The courses are open to matriculated and non-matriculated students, graduates, and undergraduates in inclusive education, psychology, speech/language, and related disciplines. Special educators are the primary audience of the program. However, other professionals, including speech language pathologists, behavior specialists, educational consultants and directors of programs serving individuals with autism and other disabilities and/or providing applied behavior analysis services will benefit as well, and are encouraged to apply.

The course sequence provides a professional development forum for addressing the critical need of building knowledge and skills for effectively serving the growing number of children with autism.

The program includes three lecture courses and practica with teaching and supervision by licensed psychologists and board certified behavior analysts with numerous years experience in the diagnosis, education and treatment of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities.

The program provides students with the opportunity to receive advanced training in behavior analysis and its application to the education of children with autism spectrum disorders. Qualified students completing the course sequence listed below will meet the minimum requirements of the Behavior Analysis Certification Board for certification as an Associate Behavior Analyst.
