Teaching and Curriculum Traditional EdD Dissertation:

The dissertation is the culmination of the doctoral program of study and represents EdD candidates’ final analysis and interpretation of the dissertation research project. Designed to produce knowledge about a field of practice in K-12 education, the traditional EdD is grounded in a solid foundation of theory, investigates an educational problem of importance to specified field/s, articulates a focused research question that addresses the problem, and reports on the data collection using a theoretically consistent analytic framework. Studies may use a variety of research methods, including action research and program evaluation, quantitative, qualitative, or mixed design strategies.
