Happy Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving recess begins at the end of classes on Tuesday, Nov. 20, for Eastman School students, and at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 21, for College students. Classes resume on Monday, Nov. 26. Happy holiday and safe travels.

Crosswalk Safety
The University is urging students to exercise caution when using crosswalks near campuses. Look for a sign of recognition that drivers see you at the crosswalk, and avoid using cell phones or personal music devices while crossing. Always walk bicycles rather than ride them across, and wear light-colored or reflective outer garments at night.    Read more...

President Forms Sustainability Council
President Seligman has appointed Provost Ralph Kuncl and Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Science and Engineering Peter Lennie to co-chair a University Council on Environmental Sustainability. The council will develop a proposed University-wide vision for environmental sustainability and review initiatives for future implementation.    Read more...

Planning to Do Some Research While You're Away?
Students can easily access nearly all of the River Campus Libraries' electronic resources remotely with an internet connection. Simply select a database, e-reserve, or e-journal, and enter your Net ID and password in the pop-up box. Note: streaming audio or video is only available with a VPN connection.    Read more...

MAG Open on Friday
The Memorial Art Gallery will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Friday after Thanksgiving (Nov. 23). Students get free admission with ID.

Gifts for the Giving Project
Help make the holidays a bit brighter for those in need by contributing to the "Gifts for the Giving Project" organized by the Interfaith Chapel communities, the Religious Roundtable, and other area groups. Volunteers Needed for Lego Tourney
Student volunteers are needed for the Dec. 9 Finger Lakes First Lego League Tournament. Thirty-six teams of middle school student will compete with Lego robots in the Palestra from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Volunteers perform tasks such as guiding teams, checking in participants, and assisting with set-up and tear-down. Morning, afternoon, or all-day shifts are available. Lunch and t-shirts provided. Register online.    Read more...
