Online Course Evaluations
Online course evaluations have begun. Students in the College are encouraged to complete all evaluations as soon as possible. Special Note for Class of 2008: The Senior Survey has provided valuable input to encourage change in the past. Seniors, do your part to ensure the Class of 2008 is heard.

Film Festival at MAG

HPV Vaccine Clinic: May 1
University Health Service (UHS) is holding a clinic for students who would like to receive the HPV vaccine (Gardasil) on May 1 from 3-4:30 p.m. in the UHS Office in Susan B. Anthony. No appointment is needed.    Read more...

Women In Science and Engineering is holding a “Create Your Own Sundae” study break on May 1 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Welles-Brown Room. Stop by, grab a cup of ice cream, and jazz it up with an assortment of toppings.

Frisbee Golf Tournament
Sigma Nu presents "Frolf This Way," an amateur frisbee golf tournament at the world-class course at Ellison Park from 1-4 p.m. on May 3, rain or shine. Tickets are $5 at the Common Market. Buy a t-shirt and get -1 stroke. All proceeds benefit Alternatives for Battered Women.

Talk by RCSD Superintendent Brizard
Jean-Claude Brizard, Rochester's recently appointed superintendent of schools, will discuss his vision for reform on May 7 at 6 p.m. in the Hawkins-Carlson Room of the Rush Rhees Library. A reception follows the free event.    Read more...

RecycleMania Results
RecycleMania results are in: The University finished 39th out of 56 schools in the partial campus division, recycling 11.73 pounds per person for a total of 70,443 pounds of would-be garbage. The results far exceed last year's total of 47,187 pounds.

New Art in Gleason Library
Art by Stacey Fisher is on view in Gleason Library through June 25. Students are invited to stop by and vote for their favorite painting to be purchased for the Gleason art collection.

Thanks for Adding Your Contacts
The University's new emergency notification system, AlertUR, had a successful test on April 24. If you aren't one of the nearly 2,000 undergraduates who have already added new information, go to www.rochester.edu/alertur, log in with your NetID, and fill in or change your emergency contacts.

It's All about the Book
The University is hosting a celebration of the book, in all its modern forms, from 4 to 6 p.m. April 30 in the Hawkins-Carlson Room of Rush Rhees Library. Printed and electronic books as well as published compositions and CDs produced by faculty and staff will be on display and available for purchase.    Read more...

Bells Concert on the Quad
At noon on May 2 don’t miss the world premiere of new carillon and electronic music. Performed by Eastman graduate students Tiffany Ng ’08 and Randall Harlow, the 75-minute concert can be enjoyed from the Eastman Quad.

Eastman School of Music Student Wins Links Award
"The Links, founded in 1946, is made up of more than 11,000 women of color intent on furthering human rights and social and racial justice through educational, cultural and civic activities. Each April, the Rochester chapter of the national organization presents its $3,000 scholarship to a black Eastman School of Music student. Andre Washington, the 23rd recipient of the award, celebrates his mother's intuition with a 3 p.m. recital Sunday at Kilbourn Hall."    Read more...

Fulbright Scholars

Five graduating seniors and a recent alumnus will receive prestigious Fulbright Scholarship for 2008-09 to study and perform research abroad. They tie the record number of Fulbright winners chosen from the College last year.
