Online Drop/Add Ends Jan. 22
On-line drop/add continues through Jan. 22 at midnght. Beginning Jan. 23, all drops and adds must be completed on the correct form. Faculty signatures are required for added classes only. Freshmen must also have their advisor's signature.

Andrew Young Talk, No Classes on MLK Day
Andrew Young, business leader and former U.S. ambassador, will deliver the Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Address tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Strong Auditorium. Classes are also cancelled in tribute to King.

Eastman Gets Same Pricing for Events
A new agreement between the Eastman Office of Student Life and the River Campus Students’ Association will allow for Eastman undergraduates to purchase tickets for River Campus Events sponsored by SA groups at the same price as River Campus undergraduates.

Yellowjacket MascotName the New Yellowjacket
A committee of students, faculty, staff, and alumni have reviewed more than 1,200 suggestions submitted for naming the new mascot. Now it's time to choose your favorite from the six finalists. Vote online by Monday, Jan. 28.   

Hip Hop Class
The Office of Special Programs is offering a Hip Hop class for six weeks on Tuesdays 6 to 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 29. No experience is required and discounts are available for students. Sneakers and loose fitting clothing are required for class. To register and for questions call 275-2344 or stop by Lattimore Hall 127.

Book Donations for Library Sale
River Campus Libraries and the Friends of the UR Libraries are seeking book donations for their February sale. Call the library at 275-4461 to make arrangements for delivery of your tax-deductible gift. At the sale, hardbound books will be $1 and paperbacks $0.50, with proceeds supporting the libraries’ collections. The fundraiser will be held Feb. 27, from from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Feb. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Hawkins-Carlson Seminar Room of Rush Rhees Library. 

Daily Show Comedian Demetri Martin
A regular on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart and one of Entertainment Weekly's "25 funniest people in America," Demetri Martin performs Friday, Feb. 1, in Strong Auditorium at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 for undergraduates, avaliable beginning Jan. 21at www.choiceticketing.com/rochester or at the Wilson Commons Common Market.

Wild by Design Exhibition Tour
Enjoy a docent-led tour of the Memorial Art Gallery's exhibition, Wild by Design: Two Hundred Years of Innovation and Artistry in American Quilts. Admission to the exhibition and tour is free for University undergraduates with ID. Tours are Friday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. or Sunday, Jan. 27, at 1 p.m.

Volunteers Needed for Girl Scouts Workshop

Enjoy discounted tickets to Mercury Opera Rochester’s production of Don Giovanni today, Sunday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. in Eastman Theatre. Eastman professors Benton Hess and Steven Daigle are conductor and director, respectively, for the production, and the lead, Ian Greenlaw, is a graduate of the Eastman School. Fulbright Information Session
Juniors are especially encouraged to attend, but all students are welcome to learn about this international exchange program for U.S. citizens who have completed a bachelor's degree. Applicants design programs to study, conduct research, or teach English conversation and U.S. culture abroad. Current graduate students and recent alumni may also apply. Thursday, Jan. 24, in the Gowen Room in Wilson Commons. 4-5 p.m.

From Jan. 20 to 26, the Tiernan Project is sponsoring a week of community service projects including collecting cans for Foodlink, making cards for the Ronald McDonald House, and helping at a shelter.
